On Saturday, October 4th, 2014, the annual Darlington Apple Festival took place. This is a non-profit event, with many vendors, food, hayrides, and more! Many people from all over come to join in on the festivities every year.

There were many things to do this year. They had $1 hay rides, $5 pony rides, scare crow making at the church, hair dying, face painting, sand art, fresh roasted pecans, (of course) fresh apples, and even Wockenfuss candies were there!

Lots of students and teachers from Aberdeen High School went to the apple festival, and here’s what Mrs. Jackson, secretary at Aberdeen, thought about the event.“There is a good variety of stuff to do, great food, and they have great Christmas gifts too! My son actually took his daughter, and went on the hayride,” she said.

Many families from all over Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware come to enjoy the festival every year, and this year it was a big hit. Let’s hope the next year is going to be even better.
