Senior Week is the time when freshly-graduated seniors go off to Ocean City for a week to have fun and be reckless, but safe, of course. It’s also the time when things become stressful and breaks your bank even more.
You have to worry about finding reliable, loyal people to stay the week, and sometimes you can’t even count on your friends. Senior Week can make some people start to question their friendships with people, which sounds absolutely ridiculous, but it’s true.
When deciding on where you want to stay, whether it be a hotel, condo, house, or even apartment, it all adds up. Most places in Ocean City require a deposit and then more. You have to have money for gas to get there, food to have at the place at which you’re staying, and money to eat at restaurants and do fun activities.
Junior Rocko Hillhouse says that Senior Week is a time for seniors to go wild and have fun. “I will probably start planning for my Senior Week in January of my senior year. I want to try and get the best house and talk to my closest friends to figure out who to stay with,” he says.
Senior Lezlee Brown has different advice. “Make sure you have everything together and don’t let anyone back out on you,” she says. If someone backs out, you have to put more money in, Lezlee adds.
But, don’t let this scare you. You can make this experience fun for you and your friends. It’s all about commitment and constant communication between yourself and everyone in your group. Planning ahead of time can help, too.
So, enjoy your time in Ocean City with your class, because you worked so hard during school– and it’s your time!
