When it’s Cool, Don’t be Dry!

The winter months have arrived and with it, dry skin is here, including ashy knees and chapped lips. The change in weather, the frigid air and lack of humidity is to blame.

Do not fret, moisture is here! The best of the best moisturizers are available to us. We know the classic, the beloved ‘Carmex’.

Carmex serves dual purposes as lip therapy and helps heal the winter season cold sores. Carmex runs for about a dollar–a dollar well spent.

Another intensely therapeutic (as the name states) chapstick would be ‘Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm’. Jack Black’s has the qualities of a lip gloss with the benefits of a traditional chapstick. Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm runs for about $7.50, which is quite pricey, but more than worth it.

‘Smith’s Rosebud Salve’ is a favorite among many for dry and chapped lips. Smith’s is a tinted balm with superior qualities to soothe bumps and burns as well. Smith’s is priced at $6.00.

Therapeutic lotions are also essential. Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion is specially formulated for dry and patchy skin. Gold Bond is priced closely to $8.49.

Lush makes organic products and their ‘Dream Cream’ consists of organic ingredients necessary for soothing the skin and chapped bodies. Lush’s Dream Cream has the extremely important cocoa butter for sore skin. Lush’s Dream Cream runs for around $26.95 which is extremely pricey, but the quality is there.
