We are only 13 games into the baseball season so far, but the Houston Astros are in first place in their division, having seven wins and six losses– only above second place Oakland Athletics by one game.

If they do make the playoffs this would be their first since 2005 and their first winning season since 2008.

They are doing so well thanks to their pitching, being 6th in ERA, and then being last in batting average with a .207.

They only have two offensive players that are doing well, which are Jose Altuve and Luis Valbuena–they are obviously going to have to improve that.

Their pitching is astonishing, being 3rd in ERAs and WHIP. Their best pitcher is Dallas Keuchel, winning two games, having 18 strikeouts and a .90 ERA.

Even if they don’t make it to the playoffs, and they win 80 or 90 games, it will be their best season in five years– their best being 76 wins and 86 losses back in 2010.
