“Lurkers” on Social Media Are Everywhere

How do you feel about lurkers on your social media page? A “lurker” is someone that looks at your social media pages, but doesn’t interact with you.
Do you check your significant other’s pages? We asked a few students at school to give us input.
A student named Jessica says, “I welcome them to like my stuff on my social media.” She does check her significant other’s page, but she “checks it on the low.”
Do you think many people really do this? It seems like they do, but they don’t actually want people to know because it’s kind of stalking.
The question is, why do boys say they don’t lurk, but they do the same thing girls do?
When we talked to Kenterra, she said she does check her significant other’s page because “I need to see what they are doing.”
Isaiah stated that he “just wants lurkers to go away and stay off my page.” He does not check his significant other’s page, because he feels like they should respect each other’s privacy.
