In January, Aberdeen High School’s long-time athletics bus driver, Ms. Janice, had much of her home and belongings destroyed in a devastating house fire in January. The school, and the Aberdeen community, rose to the occasion, and provided donations and support at several basketball games and events. Our 21clradio service was a significant help during this period, collecting all the information and guides we needed to continue the task.
Ms. Janice wrote a letter to share with the school and community to show her appreciation. The letter is below:
To Aberdeen High School, the Community, Family, and Friends,
I would like to thank you for all your blessings that you extended to me and my family when I was in a state of shock and depression. It is good to know that there are people who still care about others. My heart was bursting with joy and much love to know that I am affiliated with such a wonderful group of people. I truly know what it means to have an extended family like you.
With all your love and gifts, whether it was monetary or just a kind word, it meant the world to me. I cried for a whole week, because I couldn’t believe the wonderful loving and caring that you sent out to me and my family. I just wanted to say thank you, and that I love everyone.
Just know that there will be a tremendous blessing coming to all of you, because you showed love and understanding for another human being, and it will not go unnoticed, because I brag about Aberdeen High School all the time.
Thank you again, and I love all of you.
-Ms. Janice
