Most people like scary movies, am I right? Especially ones with the killer clowns and “jump” scares.

Movies like “IT,” by Stephen King, where Tim Curry plays as the killer clown Pennywise, are the kind of movies I’m talking about. But what if those movies were coming to life right before your eyes?Where you have to blink several times and rub your eyes to see if what your seeing is actually there or if you’re just going insane?

Yep, that’s what’s going on in the peaceful Fleetwood Manor Apartments in Greenville, S.C., where children are playing at the basketball court to have fun, not come face-to-face with a person dressed in a clown costume holding money trying to get them to come into the woods with them.

In Greenville, the residents in Fleetwood Manor have been repeatedly startled when their children reported clowns watching and beckoning them to the woods with money. Many people who don’t necessarily know much about these incidents have had a hard time believing it is happening, because it just sounds silly to say it.

Luckily, most people have never experienced anything like this.

Citizens who are involved with the situation with the creepy clowns want something done immediately. Others who are not directly involved but have heard about the situation also want action to be taken.

Jason Wood, junior, says, “They should have way more cops out there during the day and patrolling at night.”

An anonymous student says, “They need to catch them. LIKE NOW. Children shouldn’t be targeted like that. That’s what sick people do. Like honestly.”

These students said they feel very strongly about this because they have younger siblings and care a lot about kids.

Personally, I think they should do more to find the people dressed as clowns because they could be child predators–or worse.

A parent that lives in Fleetwood Manor said to CNN that she thought her child was seeing things.

“And then the next day, I had about 30 kids come up to me and say, ‘Did you see the clown in the woods?” this parent said.

So, when your mom says “Don’t talk to strangers,” please listen.
